A common theme that I see in a lot of organisations is a lack of the good habit to regularly review Standard Operating Procedures.
I often find that there is a lack of knowledge in completing routine tasks and those more tricky ones that are infrequently done.
Taiichi Ohno, legendary architect of Toyota’s operations management had a simple adage
Where there is no Standard there can be no improvement!
The example in the photo is a simple to do list. Geoff, has recognised that there are new team members who are unfamiliar writhe the process resulting in errors and tasks going over time.
Geoff recognised his role as a leader to mentor the team through job instruction and then captured up to date work instructions to be updated in their SOPs
He also added in tips and tricks to stream line the existing process
Top marks Geoff and a great CI habit.
