A Day In The Life Of The Lean Business System Conference

Peter was visiting Australia in August, running a number of workshops, and we made the decision to fly him over the ditch along with our Australian team to bring this world class speaker to our shores.
As it turned out, the team at Massey University had been trying to get Peter here for a number of years, so we joined forces with the Massey team to plan, prepare and promote, the premier Continuous Improvement event of the year!
So in true PDCA form, we spent time planning in March ’15 for our launch event in September, which some said couldn’t be done!
The key to our thinking was to bring to life the stories of those individuals and organisations that were on their Lean journey and looking to sustain lean in the long term.
Our format of key note speakers and break out streams, we believed allowed the Conference attendees to pick and choose what interested them, and with a variety of industries represented, ranging from small apple growers to healthcare, to parks and recreation, banking to chicken Excellence, Peter later chaired the open panel discussion with the key note presenters and awarded the first ever SA Partners Continuous Improvement prize to two leading Massey students who had applied Lean Thinking to their design and manufacturing projects as part of their
