I’m now part way through a whole month of summer holidays, and as the weather turns for the worse here in Auckland and catching up with a bit of blogging.
A couple of weeks back, we headed to Waitomo, of the world famous caves as an impromptu request from our overseas visitors.
Situated a comfortable 2.5 hrs drive from home base, we headed off arriving at Roselands Farm Restaurant for brunch and then, something that had been missing for a while…the Angora rabbits! Yes it seems weird, but they do a twice daily demonstration, and it is interesting to hear how these German natives were bred and how they rely on being shorn otherwise will overheat and become an ex-bunny! These were free range and totally well looked after by the way.
