We hear time and time again that it’s vitally important for any organisation to focus on the right things to drive business forward in these tough times.

Based on this philosophy, Toyota has been working on human resources development ever since its founding. Human resources are developed through continuous improvement on the Genchi Genbutsu (go see for yourself) principle”

Genchi Genbutsu was Taiichi Ohno’s a key approach in problem solving. He espoused that if the problem is identified on the shopfloor then it needs to be observed, understood and solved at the shopfloor. Genchi Genbutsu is also called Gemba attitude. Gemba is the Japanese term for “the real place” in this case ‘the place where it actually happens’.
