I saw this news story from Japan on how an inventor had developed an air conditioned shirt or jacket, designed to keep workers cool during the power saving activities post the Tsunami and earthquakes that struck Japan.

Self-cooling clothes may seem like the stuff of science fiction, but one Japanese company has created such a product by incorporating fans into the fabric of its items.

Shirts and jackets made by Kuchou-fuku – literally “air-conditioned clothes” – keep the wearer comfortable even in sweltering heat.

This is a great Kaizen idea, and although a little strange to look at, could catch on!
I’m not sure about the air-conditioned office chair, could be a bit drafty!
